Just a stone’s throw from Toorak Road in South Yarra, we’re a bakery and cafe that offers a delicious range of sourdough breads, sweet and savoury pastries, granola, pies, sausage rolls and sandwiches.
Whether you’re popping in to pick up a loaf of bread, taking a moment over a coffee and freshly made sandwich or arranging catering for your next small event, you can expect only the best products made daily, right here, from the finest ingredients.
Our range of sourdough bread is made using certified organic flour and baked on a stone hearth. Baker and owner Michael James is fastidious about his craft and the philosophy that great bread that’s good for you should be made using only flour, water and salt. No additives. No improvers. No stabilizers. At our place, what you see is truly what you get.
And whilst a true passion for giving you the most authentically baked bread brought us here and drives us every day, the same integrity goes into everything we make – from our traditional Cornish pasties (Michael is from Cornwall, after all) to our buttery croissants and famous doughnuts … which seem to have put us on the map thanks to flavours like salted caramel and creme brulee.
Beyond our bakery on Tivoli Road, our delicious baked goods can be found at Fairfield Farmers Market, on the third Saturday of each month. You can purchase our bread every day at Counter in North Melbourne, and Harper & Blohm in Essendon every Saturday.
On the 1st of November 2017 our first book ‘The Tivoli Road Baker’ will be released.
